NFS:Rapido

RC Car designing event.
In racing, they say that your car goes where your eyes go. The driver who cannot tear his eyes away from the wall as he spins out of control will meet that wall; the driver who looks down the track as he feels his tires break free will regain control of his vehicle.
Being fast and furious forms the backbone of this enthralling and one of the most-awaited events of FootPrintsX6.
With over 200 cars vrooming on the tracks and the adrenaline pumping though your body, would you be able to compete with the aficionados of speed and control?
With the perfect amalgamation of ingenuity and craziness, you can be the one to leave ‘em all awestruck within a matter of milliseconds as your car zooms by their wide eyes, the loud roar of your revving engine still reverberating in their ears!
So what are you waiting for? NFS is HERE and it beckons all racing freaks to enter the battle/racing zone!

Problem Statement

Design a RC car which has to work on dual frequency and has to complete the given track within least possible time.

Judging Round

  • The machine will be checked thoroughly for its mechanism & dimensions by the judges for design criteria.
  • In this, the judges may ask questions to the team members regarding the working/construction of their machine.
  • Only after passing this round, the teams proceed to the qualifying round.
  • “Best Design Award” might be given on the basis of this round.

Round-1:Qualifying Round

  • There will be time-trial wherein each team will be required to complete a portion of the track.
  • The top teams from the qualifying rounds will make it to the second round.
  • Further Rounds will be revealed on the day of the event.
  • Maximum of 3 participants are allowed per team.
  • The track will consist of regular checkpoints. If a machine halts or overturns, a member of the team is allowed to lift it up and place it at the nearest checkpoint (behind that point) and then continue with the round.
  • The machine cannot leave anything behind as it travels through the track. It cannot leave any marks on the track that aid in navigation as it travels.
  • Teams are not allowed to purposefully damage the machine of their opponents at the time of the race. If found doing so the concerned team will be disqualified.
  • If the machine remains immobile for respectable time then on the spot decision will be taken by the core committee.
  • The Judges’ decision shall be considered as final and indisputable. Any team involved in any type of argument with the judges will be disqualified.
  • The core committee reserve the rights to disqualify any team indulging in any kind of misbehaviour.
  • Safe innovations are always encouraged but if that leads to any loophole in any of the above rules then they will be disqualified.
  • The organizing team has the right to change any of the rules at any time. The changes will be sent to the participants to their given e-mail Ids and will be flashed on the main screen of the site.

The teams have to submit the abstracts containing the following:

  • Name of the Event

  • Team ID

  • Name of the Participants

  • College

  • Year

  • Name of the Machine

  • Frequencies Used

  • Photograph of the machine

  • Abstract Specifications

  • Specify the dimensions clearly in the format of L cm x B cm x H cm.

  • Clearly mention the voltage specifications of your machine.

  • Size (Diameter and Width) of the wheels and ground clearance (both front and rear).

  • A brief note about the working of your machine.

  • Maximum voltage must not exceed 36V.

  • The machine should fit into a 40cm x 30cm x 30 cm box at all times, smaller machines shall be accepted.
  • Machine should be fully remote controlled and wireless.
  • The remote must compulsorily work on dual frequencies (with a considerable difference between the frequencies) throughout the event so as to avoid interference with the opponent. The team may be asked to work on the alternate frequency (i.e. any of the two frequencies) at any point.
  • The participants are allowed to use a single frequency car only if they use the digital encoding technique.(which ensures that no radio frequency waves interferes with the car). Thus, your transmitter & receiver are paired uniquely to avoid any frequency clashes.
  • The ground clearance of the machine must be minimum 2.5cm. The width of the wheels used must be minimum 2cm.
  • Spare parts or kits from any ready-made toys must not be used for constructing the machine.
  • However gear box for the machine might be taken from toys. Individual gears can also be taken for assembling a gear box.
  • The body of the machine including the base on which the circuitry is mounted must not be taken from ready-made toys.
  • The body of the machine must be completely covered and the circuit peripherals must not be visible.
  • The machine must be capable to traverse on off road dirt track such as ground, sand, mud, slippery surface, etc. with many obstacles.
  • The slopes on the track may have a maximum angle of 30 degrees.
  • The name of the machine should be prominently displayed on the machine.
  • No rocket engines, explosives, or chemically propelled substances are to be used.
  • Batteries cannot be replaced once the machine enters the track. Design should be original and innovative. A detailed diagram for the design of the model has to be submitted for the best design award.
  • It is recommended to check with the organizing team for any doubts or queries regarding the machine specifications.
